A fairly lackluster slate that had some amusement and some violent routs. Also completely unrelated, some places around the interwebs are saying that Michigan's freshman phenom RB Sam McGuffie is as good as gone. (edsbs.com and mgoblog.com being the 2 i trust the most on it) If true this would be FANTASTIC news for the Irish. The kid is an absolute freak and I certainly don't want to see him 3 more times. Anyway, keep looking at that, let's do it

ND(-4) "@" Navy
Pick: ND cover
Result: 27-21 ND, Win both.
What was a 20 point game with about 5 minutes left turned terrifying in a hurry. While watching the game with some ND folks we were ok giving up the 1st TD to the 2nd stringers. We were demoralized when Navy got the ball on their 1st onside (following what I thought was a decent idea to slap the ball OOB) and then laughed when they completed a bomb to the one. After scoring to get within a TD we all suddenly became terrified as Navy got the 2nd Onside recovery. This was not a good game for the Irish aside from the 3rd quarter. Again, ND's D put up a much better game than the scoreboard may show. Clausen didn't do much but I think he only threw the ball 4 times in the 2nd half as ND decided to stick with a suddenly resurrgent run game. But the Irish need to learn how to close out a beaten opponent. We still haven't seen ND play a complete game. Worst of all, my boy, Michael Floyd, went down with a knee injury and will likely be out until the bowl game. Oh yah, there's the upside, we are now bowl eligble.
# 3 Texas (-13.5) @ Kansas
Pick: Texas cover
Result: 35-7 Texas, Win both.
An efficient drubbing by the Horns. Not a whole lot to say here, Kansas has been shown to not be near the top of the Big XII class while UT showed they are still a title contender. Nothing really sexy jumps out from this game, just a solid beatdwn by a good team who while possibly deserving of a title shot needs a lot of help. The craziest thing, there is a definite possibility out there of this team not even making a BCS game should OU beat TT and the rankings deciding those 2 should stay ahead of the Horns. While I dont think it would happen, would it really surprise anyone?
#25 S. Carolina @ #4 Florida (-23)
Pick: SCAR cover UF win
Result 56-6 UF, Win SU lose ATS.
Here's the thing, I expected UF to win this game, I didn't expect the Gamecocks to just give it away. Not sure what I'm talking about? Take a gander:
Feel free to whistle yakety sax or the circus song while watching.
#6 USC (-23.5) @ Stanford
Pick: SC cover
Result:45-23 USC, Win SU, Lose ATS
Just another FG Pete, that's all I needed. This game was actually surprisingly close until the Trojans put up 21 in the 4th. Not a shabby effort by the trees.
Boston College @ #19 Florida St (-7)
Pick: BC WIN
Result: 27-17 BC, Win both
Validated. FSU was essentially missing their entire WR core with 5 of them suspended for the brawl I brought up. Hard to win with half of your offense missing. The quicksand that is the ACC continues to even out into a deliciously mellow and inevitable 8 way tie at 7-4.
